“I have been a publicist for Spyro Gyra since the beginning, music writer for numerous publications ,Co-Producer of music for EARTHDAY Central Park NYC as well as bringing numerous concerts to Key West including the first Haitian band and the only Brazilian samba band to ever appear in Key West to this day. After some time away, while enjoying a Sunday afternoon at Salute with owner Richard Hatch, I had the incredible surprise of hearing Channing Lynn for the first time. Her seemingly effortless virtuosity is so right on; her mastery of multiple instruments and genres so adept, that it immediately became time for ears to prick up and casual conversation to cease. She is the real deal. And she would be the real deal anywhere. In a town that’s no stranger to good music, she’s one of a few recent arrivees who have made music tickets to the mainland unnecessary. The fact that she delivers Django and fandango with equal ease only makes me wonder that much more why I left - and why my friends who’ve stayed merely have to say “Channing’s playing!””
